Hello,

Yes, you can skip your 2025 compartment exam and instead apply as a private candidate for the CBSE board exams. This approach can help you improve your scores in all subjects and achieve the required 75% aggregate for JEE eligibility. Here’s how you can proceed and what to consider:

Steps to Apply as a Private Candidate:

  1. Eligibility : As a student who has failed in one or more subjects, you are eligible to apply as a private candidate for the CBSE board exams.

  2. Application Process :

    • Forms : Fill out the application form for private candidates, which is usually available on the CBSE official website.
    • Fees : Pay the required examination fee.
    • Documents : Submit necessary documents such as your previous mark sheets, identification proof, etc.
  3. Examination :

    • You will need to prepare for and appear in the CBSE board exams for all five subjects as a private candidate.
    • These exams are typically held in March.

JEE Eligibility:

To be eligible for JEE (Main), you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Qualifying Exam : Pass the 12th board exams or equivalent with at least 75% aggregate marks or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class exam conducted by the respective boards (for general category).
  2. Subjects : Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory.

Potential Issues:

  1. Timing : Ensure that you complete the private candidate exams in time to meet JEE application deadlines.
  2. Recognition : Scores obtained as a private candidate are recognized for JEE eligibility, so long as you meet the 75% aggregate or top 20 percentile criteria.
  3. Preparation : Preparing for all five subjects again will require significant effort, so plan your study schedule accordingly.

Hope it helps!
