If you want to get admission in to Engineering in a college in Tamil Nadu you need to apply for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA). The admission in to B.E/B.Tech is done through TNEA counselling. The eligibility criteria to apply for TNEA is that a candidate must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as mandatory subjects with Any one of these subjects for vocational studies

Candidates belonging to general category need to score minimum 50% aggregate marks in PCM, for Backward Classes including Backward Class Muslim it is minimum 45% aggregate marks for MBC & DNC it is minimum 40% aggregate marks and for SC/SCA/ST it is minimum 40% aggregate marks. The upper age limit is 25 years.

The admission will be based on marks scored in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in class 12th. After closing of TNEA applications the authorities will release the list of eligible candidates. All the eligible candidate need to apply for TNEA counselling to participate in it. The candidates need to given their preferences of college and branch. Depending on cut off, marks scored by the candidate in PCM, preference of college/branch a seat will be allotted. The candidates who are satisfied with the seat allotment can take admission in the college allotted.
