Hi

You are eligible for jee advanced 2021 only and not eligible for jee advanced 2022. It doesn't matter even if you didn't attempt jee advanced 2020.

This is because,

One has a total of two attempts for JEE advanced over two consecutive years starting from the year of appearing for 12th board examination i. e as per , eligibility criteria one is eligible for JEE advanced examination only in the year in which he or she appears for 12th board examination and the next year following it.

So, with 12 th appearing year as 2020 ,

  • you were eligible for jee advanced 2020 and

  • you are eligible for jee advanced 2021 only. Thus, not eligible for JEE advanced 2022

You can check detailed eligibility criteria of JEE advanced by visiting our page the link for the same page is provided below

If I tell you about Jee main then,

One can give JEE Mains entrance examination for a maximum of 3 consecutive years starting from the year of passing 12th board examination.

Now, your 12th passing year is 2020

So, you were eligible for jee main 2020 , you

  • were eligible for jee main 2020

  • are eligible jee main 2021 ,

  • will be eligible jee main 2022 as well .

Thankyou

But in jee advanced website it is mentioned that if one candidate who appeard for 12 boards in 2019 and his/her result was declared after June then she can give jee advanced 2021. My exam result was declared in July 2020 so I can give jee advanced 2022

Amisha Muskan it's because 2020 wasn't a normal year, all the boards results had got delayed in 2020 due to covid pandemic and so late in results. Moreover, jee advanced 2020 was conducted way too late i. e in September 2020.

Coming to after june rule you are saying.

it's because, ideally JEE advanced examination is conducted in may and its results used to get out in June, so those who used to get 12th result after June, were not able to participate in JEE advanced counselling as to be eligible for counselling one need to have Board results as it eligibility criteria says that you need 75% in boards if you belong to general category.

but that was not the case in 2020 , as board results were out before jee advanced 2020
