No. You cannot get admission in IIST on the basis of JEE Mains score. For admission in IIST, the score of JEE Advanced is taken into consideration.
Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology is a government-aided institute and deemed university for the study and research of space science, located at Valiamala, Thiruvananthapuram.
The eligibility criteria to take admission in IIST is:
1. Candidates must have passed any of the 10+2 exam
2. Candidates must have scored at least 75 % aggregate marks in 10th and 12th examinations
3. The subjects that will be taken into account for calculating the aggregate marks are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, any language and any other subject
4. Candidates must clear the JEE Advanced exam
5. General category candidates must score at least 20% marks in JEE Advanced i.e 72 marks out of 360 and at least 6 marks out of 120 in each of the three subjects
6. OBC-NCL candidates must score at least 65 marks out of 360 marks and 5 marks out of 120 in each of the three subjects
7. SC, ST & PD candidates must score at 10% marks i.e 36 marks out of 360 and 3 marks out of 120 in each of the three subjects.
6. The number of seats reserved for different categories is:
Scheduled Caste (SC): 15%
Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5%
Persons with Disabilities (PD): 5% (Horizontal Reservation
Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL): 27%
