VIT in general based on the rank (1-20,000) calls student for counseling process which is prepared based on the percentile obtained by the student.

Below is a cut-off/closing rank of candidates of previous year,since VIT doesn't disclose actual cutoff and closing rank,the data below is obtained from students,news,blogs and other websites and may vary to a certain degree. However,it can be referred as it gives approximate idea

For Chennai Campus the closing rank are:-

1) Civil Engineering - 29000

2) Computer Science and Engineering - 33000

3) Mechanical Engineering -39500

4) Electrical and Electronics Engineering -  39000

So there is a bleak chance of you being shortlisted for Chennai Campus CSE course.

The closing rank for VIT vellore:-

1) Computer Science and Engineering - 15,000

So there is a bleak chance of you being shortlisted for Vellore Campus CSE course.
