NEET 2024: Cutoff (OBC, SC, ST & General Category)
NEET 2024 Admission Guidance: Personalised | Study Abroad
NEET 2025: Syllabus | Most Scoring concepts | NEET PYQ's (2015-24)
The NEET cut off varies from year to year, state to state and as well as college to college. It also depends on the Quota you are applying through as well as the Category of Admission. Government and Private Colleges have cut-offs of their own.
Assuming you are applying through the 15% All India Quota under General Category for a Government Medical College, the cut-off for NEET 2017 was Rank 5579 which corresponds to a score of approximately 520 marks out of 720.
With a score of 261 marks, it will quite difficult to get a medical seat under general Quota. As for the seats under 15% All India Quota, it will be even more difficult to get a seat in Karnataka OR Tamil Nadu. Please, do keep your options open, in case you won't land an MBBS seat. The competition is quite vigorous. Your chances would have been a little bit better if you had reservations. All the very best!
Try you luck in private college
