Getting a seat also depends on your category and state of domicile . If you belong to general category you may not be able to get a good NIT and being an obc candidate doesn't make any difference at that rank but you can get into an average NIT with some average branch . An SC/ST category student of that rank can get into a good NIT with a core branch . Some top IIITS have low cutoffs than NITs so if you want top college my opinion is to go with GFTIs.
