You cannot be sure that if one has scored 277 and has gotten selected previous year, then you can also qualify with 281 marks. You can oy hope for it but can never be too sure about it. The cut off for each year keep on changing as it depends on a lot of things. So it is better to score a little more than that to be on the safe side.
