30k rank in VIT cannot get you any seat in 1 category definitely. If we talk about CSE it ends at 25k max in 4 category with 4 lakh fees .

IT ends at 28-30k in 4 category.

But I guess you will get EEE , civil in 4 category but that will be of no use dear. Investing this much amount of money is not going to lay you off with civil, instrumentation branch.

But anything can happen with management quota. You can even get CSE that is too branch of vit with management quota. I adviced it because if you can afford category 4 fees , you can go for management quota also.

But I strongly suggest you that if you are going through management quota then please go for Bangalore colleges like RVCE BMS Ramaiah. These colleges are having awesome placement. You can think of the reputation of college where companies like Mercedes Benz Maruti, Audi are coming for mechanical placements. All big companies visit these colleges.

See the rank u have secured will give u a seat in the lower core branches to pursue ur higher studies in the field of ur interest under btech courses. U can also apply for the Chennai campus for better and higher options. U can also opt for the management quota for the desired branch in the desired campus as this is a private institution and seats are filled until they are full.
