Hello,

EWS category in India is a sub category of people having an annual family income less than ₹8 lakhs belonging to the General Category. Also they do not belong to any reserved category such as SC, ST or OBC . If you are under the above criteria, then you will belong to EWS category of Assam.

Dear Mahesh, EWS category is for those candidates who belong to General Category and do not avail any reservation benefits of OBC, SC, ST. The family income from all sources should be less than 8 lakhs per annum to be eligible for this reservation. And primarily you should have corrected your Category to EWS during the last week of May when NTA has opened its correction window. If you havent changed your Category to EWS then unfortunately you cannot claim EWS reservation now though you are eligible.
