Hello Candidate,

As you CGPA is above 8.0 you can fetch seat in IITs.

GATE score is not mandatory for PhD programme in IITs.

Assuming that you have qualified GATE during M Tech admission , it will help you in shortlisting process even if it is not valid.

The only hurdle is written exam and/or interview. However, some of the IITs may ask for a valid GATE score .
