I think 1:8 or 1:10 is NTPC ratio to select candidates for interview



Interview Call :Open Category : Below 150 rank may help you to get a chance to appear in InterviewOBC : Below 450 rankSC/ST : Below 1500Final Selection : To seize the opportunity with both hands, a decent performance in GD and personal interview is enough Irrespective of Rank you have.



ONGC :



Interview Call : based on 2017 Gate (my friend gave info, he gave his Interview through 17 Gate )Open Category: Below 100OBC : Below 300SC : Below 1200ST : Below 2000



IOCL :



Interview Call :OC : Below 600 rankOBC : Below 800SC : Below 3000ST : Around 4K.





OC : Final rank got selected was 130 (it doesn't mean that everyone below 130 were selected, few might missed to turn around)OBC : Around 420 rankSC : Till 1100ST : till 2200.
