Hi,
In Government medical colleges, you can get admission through All India Quota seats and state quota seats.
Marks required for admission to the 15 percent AIQ seats is usually high and with 476 marks it is difficult to get a seat through All India Quota.
Since you belong to Haryana, you can apply for admission to the 85 percent state quota seats. The cutoff for 85% State Quota seats will be released by the state counselling authority, DMER.
According to the previous year's cutoff record, chances seem to be less to get a seat in government medical colleges of Haryana through state quota also. I am mentioning the NEET 2018 cutoff for reference
PT. B.D. Sharma Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak-606 marks
BPS Government Medical College, Sonepat- 564 marks
Kalpana Chawla Govt. Medical College, Karnal- 569 marks
SHKM GMC, Nalhar, Mewat, Haryana- 558 marks
ESIC Medical College, Faridabad- 568 marks
However, the cutoff required for admission varies from year to year depending on several factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, candidates appearing in the exam, etc. So, this year cutoff may increase or decrease.
I am expecting the cutoff to increase this year. So you can get a seat in the private medical colleges. Chances to get admission in government medical colleges seems tough.
Now, I shall explain you the Haryana MBBS admission and counselling process.
Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Haryana conducts the counselling for admission. There are tentatively 581 MBBS and 368 BDS seats available for admission.
Eligibility Criteria to apply for the state quota admission is as follows:
A candidate must a citizen of India. NRI, OCI and PIO aspirants are also eligible for admission.
Students must be a bonafide resident of Haryana.
Counselling Process:
DMER will release the application form for counselling form June 22 in the online mode. Eligible students can register for admission.
Merit list is released by the authority. Candidates who register succesfully for the counselling process are included in the merit list. Next step is the choice filling. Candidates have to give the preferences of the colleges in which they wish to take admission. Choice filling is a very important step and plays a major role in getting a seat so candidates should do the choice filling carefully after having an idea from the previous year cutoffs.
On the basis of the merit list, choice filling and considering other factors seat allotment is done.
After that candidates have to get their documents verified and report to the allotted institution in the given deadline.
Important documents that are required during the counselling process are:
Mark sheets and pass certificates of Class 10 and 12,
Equivalency certificate issued by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi by NRI Quota candidates.
