There are high chances that you will get in. Back when I started my engg in the stream of IT, my class had the last rank of 66k. IT is usually followed by Instrumentation and Production streams. You have not mentioned your preferred stream, if you’re flexible in that aspect, I think the chances are even higher.
With that said, I would certainly mention that, Counselling and admissions have changed a great deal, mainly because of these 2 bangs :
1- Joint AP became TS (a smaller state)
2- Fee change ( change in convener and management fees)
Point 2 could go either way(favor) depending on your financial stats. People from lesser financial backgrounds tend to move away from the college since the convener quota fees moved up from 30k in days to 86k and then 66k making space for others,and the scholarship not covering the amount. I remember, 70% of the students in my class were on scholarship given by the joint AP YSR govt.
Piece of Advice : Get in touch with a second year student ask him/her about last year’s trend. Just walk into the college, catch a random group. They’ll help you a lot with this.
