There are cjances of getting the govt. medical college if you apply through your state quota seats. The cutoff marks for the all india quota govt. medical or dental colleges are quite high as compared to the state quota seats. You have not mentioned your state here otherwise we could provide the details of the cutoff marks for the various govt. and medical colleges for your state.

501 are ver nice marks. These marks may get you a government medical college. But the probability varies from state to state.
If you belong to states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, North-East State, Maharashtra then your chances are very high for admission in government medical colleges.
