For your knid information I would like to inform you that there are various departmment in merchant navy and every department has sub department in it .

For example for DECK department - A candidate must have 60% marks in physics , chemistry and mathematics and 50% marks in English in either 10th or 12th.

For Deck ratings - You must have 40% marks in 10th with Science and Maths from a recognised board and 40% marks in English.

Further for engine department you must have as same requirement as for deck department .

Merchant Navy has various departments and all the departments have various departments and every department has its different eligibility criteria to get into, so here is some of the detail eligibility criteria for different different departments:

Engine Department:


Engineering Department: The basic eligibility criteria to BR engineering officer is that the candidate must have secured 60% marks in their class 12 in PCM and 50% marks in English.


Engine Ratings: The minimum eligibility criteria to get into the engine rating is that the candidate must have passed class 10th with at least 40% marks in Science and maths and 40% marks in English.


Deck Departments:

Deck officer: eligibility criteria to be a deck officer is that the candidate must have secured 60% marks in PCM and 50% marks in English in class 12th.


Deck Ratings: the minimum eligibility criteria to be in decorating is at the candidate must have secured 40% marks with science and maths in class 10 and 40% marks in English in class 10th.
