Choosing branch according to your rank is not a good decision. You should choose your branch as per your interesr. Suppose today , you are getting mechanical engineering seat in any good college like RVCE ,so i advise you to take admission there. And after some time , you observe that you have no innterest in mechanical which is affecting your marks, you could have gained more marks in CSE. so you can do nothing at that point of time. Its better to choose the branch before choosing the  college .
