Hello aspirant,
JEE Main 2021 Eligibility constitutes reservation criteria for candidates belonging to – Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), OBC-NCL, Women Candidates, Person with Disability and Economically Weaker Section. The eligibility criteria and reservation rules followed by the authorities are set by the Government of India.
The reservation of seats through JEE Main is also based on State of Eligibility (from where the candidate has appeared for the qualifying exam). Check JEE Main 2021 Eligibility.
This follows the parameters related to Home State and Other State Quota in terms of admissions offered by the universities.
For example, if a candidate scores a rank of 1200 and has a domicile of Delhi then he can apply through his/ her home state quota.
With this rank, if they apply for NIT Delhi through home state quota then the chances of getting a seat in that college are higher.
Hope this is useful for you.
Thank you.
