Hello. Yes, you can prepare for CAT in order to get a bigger and a fatter pay check. You should focus on various sections of CAT,while preparing for the exam. It is more of a accuracy based exam, and hence you should focus on getting maximum correct responses.
Hope this helps.
All the best.
Dear Aspirant,
With this profile, yes you can prepare for CAT. But as you told that you have worked as a private tutor, and if you are not associated with an organization, it will not be counted as full-time work experience. But you can always mention it in your CV or at the time of interview in case you are asked about it.
In parallel to your CAT preprations, you can also prepare for MBA entrance exams like XAT, NMAT, SNAP, IIFT and CMAT, the syllabus for these exams are almost similar and they will open the door for lots of b-schools that do not accept CAT scores. In that way you will have backup plan in case your CAT doesn't go very well.
After all the rigour of the exam and admission process if you get into a top b-schools, you will get ample amount of learning opportunites to develop your personality holistically and if you are able to achieve that you will have a chance to grab a very good placement.
The placement figures at IIM's and other top b-schools are very encouraging and if one does well throughout his course, they have a very good chance to land a very high paid job.
So, I would suggest you to prepare well for CAT and other MBA entrance exams mentioned above and secure a high percentile so that you can get into a top b-schools and ultimately be able to get a good placement.
In case you have any other queries or doubts do comment here.
Thanks and All the best !!!
