BCom or Bachelor of Commerce, which is the second most popular UG course under the Commerce stream is a three-year course available in both regular and distance mode. . Under BCom, there are three most popular courses, namely :
1. BCom or BCom-General
2. BCom (Honours)
3. BCom LLB.
The programme consists of three main subjects and elective courses that is usually spread over six semesters during which the student is taught topics like financial accounting, corporate tax, economics, company law, auditing, business management, etc.
Here are ten colleges for the course:
1. Sri Ram College of Commerce: This college does not have a specific admission process and follows the rules of DU for admission guidelines. There is no entrance exam. The Eligibility criteria is as follows:
The interested candidates need to have 10+2 certificate of CBSE/ISCE board or an equivalent with the minimum 45% marks in aggregate.
The candidates must pass in five subjects, including four elective subjects and one language.
The candidates having qualified the pre-university examination, i.e. 2 years after 10 years of schooling, or Intermediate Examination from a DU recognized Indian university are also eligible to apply for admission.
2. Loyola College, Chennai: Aspirants seeking admission to 3 year Full-time B.com Program should have passed the intermediate or 10+2 level from a recognised board with a minimum of 45% aggregate. Admission happens at a two stage level where the merit of the student is taken into consideration upon which they are called for a personal interview.
3. St.Xavier's College: There is no entrance test for the course in this college. Aspirants seeking admission to 3 year Full-time B.com Program should have passed the intermediate or 10+2 level from a recognised board.
4.Chandigarh University- The University conducts CUCET. Aspirants seeking admission to 3 year Full-time B.com Program should have passed the intermediate or 10+2 level from a recognised board.
5. Christ University- The basic eligibility is a pass in 10+2 from a recognized board. Admission is offered by considering the marks secured in 10+2 followed by a valid score in Christ University Entrance Test.
6. Hindu College: Minimum 45% marks in the qualifying examination. The applicant must have studied and passed Mathematics/Business Mathematics at the qualifying examination for admission to B. Com(Hons.)
7. St. Andrew's College of Arts, Science and Commerce: The minimum eligibility is 10+2 examination with minimum 50% marks.
8.SYMBIOSIS COLLEGE OF ARTS AND COMMERCE, PUNE: The entrance test is Symbiosis entrance Test (SET).The basic eligibility is to have passed 10+2 with commerce stream and mathematics should be opted as a relevant subject from ICSE or CBSE or any such recognized board.
9.Hans Raj College: Aspirants seeking admission to 3 year Full-time B.com Program should have passed the intermediate or 10+2 level from a recognised board.
10. Mount Carmel College: The Students passed in 10+2 exam conducted by the Karnataka pre-University Education Board or any other examination considered equivalent thereto shall be eligible for admission. The candidate should have studied both Business Studies and Accountancy in the qualifying examination.
