Considering both KCET and COMEDK, firstly the fee structure is more for COMEDK which is nearly 2-3 times than the KCET. So this is the major disadvantage of COMEDK. And as COMEDK is a National level exam, many students will be appearing for it and there will be more competition as there will be more students across many states.

And particularly in your case you have got good ranking in KCET when compared to COMEDK. So through KCET you will be getting very good colleges with very less fees. So I recommend you to go through the KCET counselling as you have many benefits.

KCET will however give you way to many of the Good State Engineering Colleges in Karnataka, incase youre from Karnataka State apart from Private Engineering Colleges. Other State Students have better chances in COMEDK targeting Top Private Engineering Colleges mainly in Bangalore. Incase youre target is Top Private Engineering Colleges in Bangalore, you may even use COMEDK. However there may be a huge fees difference between students entering through KCET and others through COMEDK. Incase the fees for the Particular Colleges is lower through KCET, use that score, being a Karnataka resident.

There are better opportunities for other state students and the rules are less stringent than kcet. The big hurdle in comedk is the fees for colleges is around 1,50,000. This is almost 4 times the kcet fees. Other state students admission-As mentioned above the rules are less strict with comedk than kcet.
