Hello Upendra

I would like to say that the rank in this session of Jee Main 2020 is calculated with the help of this formula (100 - your NTA percentile) * (869010/100). So, as of now your rank can be estimate to be around be around 2,62,441 which is considerably low. So getting into an NIT would be a tough path as you are of OBC category. But you should not get disheartened by the score you should prepare more vigorously for the next attempt and try to hit hard the next time you appear as the rank will change in the next sesssion if you score good and that would be counted out of your two attempts.

Wish you good luck for your future endeavours.

Hi Upendra,

Rank calculation solely depends on your percentile and the number pf students appearing the exam. As of the January attemt, your rank will be something around 2.6 lakhs as rank=((100-69.8)*869010)/100=262441. Again your rank will change after the april attempt because the number of candidates appearing the exam will change.

At this rank getting any NIT will be difficult if you want to choose a decent branch. What I will suggest to you is to prepare well enough for the April attemt and try to score good marks to get a decent percentile to get into any NIT or IIIT of your choice.

Hello upendra,

You have very less chance to get seat in NITs. Your expected rank is 262,441.

According to this formula, you can predict the rank for jee mains January session:-

(100- total percentile) ×869010÷100= your rank.

I would you suggest prepare yourself for jee mains April session.

I hope this helpful for you.

Best wishes!!

Hello,
Your expected rank can be calculated by the given formula:
(100-total percentile score)*869010/100.
Where 869010 are the number of candidate appeared in the January 'session' of exam.
So after the treatment of the above formula your expected rank would be: 262,441.
as you didn't mention your category and state you belong to so ,I am considering all category for a probable idea.
Now if we consider previous year cutoff for NIT admission then maximum rank comes under 55k for the admission in NIT (considering all branches )
Which designate that you have no chances of admission in NIT. so I will suggest you to appear for the April 'session' of exam.
Best of luck.
