Having cleared JEE Main and also making the cut in the JEE Advanced results, students of ISC (Indian School Certificate) will be eligible for IIT admission provided they scored anything above 83.8% in the board exams. It’s important to note that the released ICSE cut off for this year is higher than that of CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education).
CBSE cut-off was pegged at 78.2% for IIT aspirants and it was 64.3% for state boards. Quite clearly, students from the ICSE Board who despite clearing JEE (Advanced), may have to lose out in the race, if they have scored less than 83.8%. This year ISC cut-off is higher than that of CBSE and the state boards as its schools have performed better than other boards.
According to a recently released circular, the council stated that the percentile of successful candidates who passed in English and other best four subjects in the 2013 exam are calculated category-wise as mentioned below:
