You have mentioned a rank of 7788. But you have not mentioned which exam this is based on. Assuming this rank is based on JEE Mains it would be a good rank. But however, top courses such as CSE and EEE would be a bit tough due to the high level of competition. Hence I would suggest you to look at other lower ranked NITs as well in order to get into courses such as these. If you mention which exam your rank is in and which reservations you have, it might be possible to specify the answer a bit more.
