Manpreet with your 78 marks in general category and CRL around 1,00,000 your chance to get admission in any of the NITs or IIITs is a little less. You will have a better chance to get admission in the NIT of your home state where you will further get domicile quota.
To check out the last few years cut-off of NITs, IIITs and other private engineering colleges you can go through these links:
- https://www.entrancecorner.com/engineering/jee-main-2017-cutoff/
In the above cut-off list for NIT, you need to check your state quota in one of the NIT of your state and without state quota in other NITs. Also with your marks and other details you can check out the private colleges where you have a strong probability of getting admission by going through the link mentioned below:

Along with this, with 78 marks in the general category you have also cleared the JEE Mains cut-off and now you have got an opportunity to sit in JEE Advanced exam where with a wonderful performance you will also get an opportunity to get into top engineering colleges like IITs. JEE Advanced score is not at all influenced by the score of JEE Mains so you can definitely give that exam to the best of your abilities and worry about the NITs counselling session later because this session will start after getting the JEE Advanced result on 10th June 2018.
Feel free to ask if you have any more queries. All the best!!

Hello Satish,
According to your marks, you have very less chances to get admission in NITs. You may apply for your home state colleges.
You can also refer to the college predictor tool, to know about your chances for admission.
Hope this helps. Good Luck!!
