Dear aspirant,

As you have mentioned that you have got 78 percentile in JEE mains and taking into consideration that you belong ews category. So let me tell the cut off generally stays around 80 percentile.

So, its a very neck to neck situation. Even if you will qualify JEE mains you won't be able a good rank in JEE advanced. So, I would recommend you keep other colleges as a back up.

It doesn't matter even if you have only 10 percentile in your Maths.

This is because,

Your overall percentile is considered and not the percentile of individual subject as there is no sectional/subjectwise  cutoff in JEE main ,there is only over qualifying cut off to be eligible for JEE advanced

It's quite difficult to predict JEE mains qualifying cutoff to be eligible for JEE advanced examination as it keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like :-

*number of students that appeared in the  jee main exam,

*kind of marks obtained by them ,

*toughness level of the jee main examination for different shift etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then yes you  hold a good chance to qualify JEE main in order to be eligible for JEE advanced

From above it is clear that, last year qualifying cut off for ews category was  70.2435518  and expected jee main 2021 cut off for ews is 70-75  percentile . So with 78 percentile, you hold good chance to qualify JEE main 2021 to be eligible for JEE advanced examination
