Hello,
To qualify in JEE Main you have to score the minimum cut off percentile that is specified. Last year the cut off percentile to qualify in JEE Main was as follows
- General:90.3765335
- OBC-NCL:72.8887969
- EWS:70.2435518
- SC:50.1760245
- ST:39.0696101
- PWD:0.0618524
As you can see the cut off percentile is different for each category. You haven't mentioned your category assuming that you belong to general category you may qualify in JEE Main but if you belong to any other reserved category then you have decent chances to qualify in JEE Main. Cut off changes every year depending on number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of exam and number of seats available etc. The expected qualifying percentile is as follows for JEE Main 2021
- General: 90-95
- OBC-NCL/EWS: 70-75
- SC: 50-55
- ST: 40-45
- PWD: 1-2

79 percentile would fetch a rank between 214830-241500,as of now its tough to say about fetching seat in college because the analysis and also cutoffs change every year . considering you from gen category, with your percentile ,you have tough chances to fetch seat for fetching in nits, iiits.you need better percentile of 98+ to fetch seat in top nits,iiits..you can try in private engineering colleges using your jee percentile. workhard for the upcoming jeemain sessions..you can get closing rank for josaa official website: https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx ..for top private engineering colleges you can try for the below colleges through jeemains:
