Hello,
The admission in to IITs is based on merit in JEE Advanced. To appear for JEE Advanced you must qualify in JEE Main. To qualify in JEE Main you need to score the minimum cut off percentile. Now, this minimum cut off percentile changes every year depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc. In 2020 the qualifying cut off percentile for OBC-NCL category was 72.8887969. In 2021 the qualifying cut off percentile is expected to be in between 70-75. If you come under OBC-CL then you will be considered as general category and the qualifying cut off percentile in 2020 was 90.3765335. In 2021 the qualifying cut off percentile for general category is expected to be in between 90-95. If you belong to OBC-NCL category then you have decent chances of qualifying in JEE Main and appear for JEE Advanced. If you belong to OBC-CL then you do not have chances of qualifying in JEE Main, you need to appear for upcoming sessions. To get admission in to IITs you need to score minimum 40-45% of total score or more. Cut off changes every year depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.
