Taking a drop is totally your decision. However, you have consider the fact that you have to prepare for both Board exams and JEE as well. But, its not that difficult if you have strong determination and work hard. Many students every take a drop and get into IITs/NITs and other good colleges even after giving improvement for boards. So, analyse your situation and take advice from your parents and teachers, and then decide what you should do. If you feel that you can overcome your weaknesses and are determined to perform, then you can afford to take a year to get a better college. If you are not confident enough and lack consistency, then you can get yourself in a college according to your choice. If you want to get admission in iit /nit then you need to repeat or appear for improvement exam and try to score at least more than 75 % marks as for nit /iit , it's mandatory to have a score of at least 75 % marks in boards. If you want to get admission in private college then there are many colleges you can get without 75 % in boards
thankyou
