Dear aspirant,
with 84% it is quite difficult to get selected in top NITs and for lower rank NITs chances to get branches like CSE, IT, ECE is quite low but for other branches such as civil, biotechnology, chemical, etc. the chances are quite high.
Its highly recommended to keep checking the cut-off list as for some NITs the closing rank for computer science branch is low. For NIT Goa the 2020 cut off for CSE department went till 56000. So keep the spirit high.
You should have mentioned your rank and home state too. Your OBC rank is approximately 40000 and with this rank it is quite difficult to get into government colleges. Go for private engineering colleges if you don't get any NIT.
Following are some of the best private engineering colleges in India.
- BITS Pilani
- VIT Vellore
- SRM University
- KIIT
- Thapar University
- Manipal Institute of Technology
- Lovely Professional University
- Chandigarh University
- RV College of Engineering
- BITS Mesra
- DA - IICT
- KJ Somaiya College of Engineering
