First of all, congrats for getting such a good score in your 12th standard. It will really help in the normalisation process and it will also greatly improve your rank! BPharm or Bachelor of Pharmacy is a 4 year undergraduate program in which students have to study the methods, process and dispensing of medicine or drugs. You need to have a Biology and Chemistry base for this course.

As you are interested in BPharm, you will only need to write Paper-1 of KEAM, that is, only Physics and Chemistry part. Since BPharm is a medical allied couse, it is COMPULSORY to write NEET AND attend Paper 1 of KEAM. You cannot appear for NEET unless you have also taken Biology as your optional subject. That is, you have taken PCMB or PCB in 12th.

This is an MCQ pen-and-paper test. You have to answer 120 questions in 150 minutes for each paper, so you will have more than 1 minute to answer a question, so be careful and don't make silly mistakes on the OMR sheet. For each correct response, you get 4 marks and for each incorrect response, one mark is reduced. Syllabus is same as that of Kerala State school syllabus. This year, Paper-1 (Physics and Chemistry) is conducted at 10 am on 22-4-19 and Paper 2 (Mathematics) is conducted at 10 am on 23-4-19.

You can also write Paper 2 if you are interested in BTech courses like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Food, Food science, Dairy, Biomedical, Biotech, IT etc. Seperate rank list for Engineering, Medical, BPharm and other allied courses are prepared. A minimum of 10 marks is to be scored so that you can qualify for the ranklist. As per KEAM 2019 Prospectus, rank list for BPharm is prepared based on this formula (which gives an index score out of 480):

[2.25xPaper 1 chemistry score + Paper 1 physics score] x 2/3

If you get atleast 10 marks by using the above formula, then your name will appear in the ranklist. Last year, the closing rank for government colleges for BPharm was between 500-2000 in general category. But, you can get admission into private colleges if your rank is below 25000, but it is not worth to take a risk. Study hard because this is your future and try to get a decent rank in your first try itself.

All the best for your upcoming exams!!!
