Hello Vamsi,
Since you have got 84 percentile in JEE Mains under OBC-NCL category , you are eligible to get a seat in NITs . But it is actually hard to tell that exactly which branch you will get as cutoffs for branches differs from one NIT to another . With your JEE Mains percentile you may get a seat in NIT . You first attend the counselling process , only then it would be clear which branch would you get . Below I have listed 2019 JEE Mains cutoff (percentile) category wise -
- CRL : 89.75
- GEN-EWS : 78.21
- OBC-NCL : 74.31
- SC : 54.01
- ST : 44.33
- PwD : 0.11
Hope this helps you and you get your choice of branch . If still you have any doubt then do ask us.
Good Luck !!!
Hello Vamsi, Getting a seat in chemical engineering in any of the NITs at this percentile would be very tough for you. You can try in some of the lower NITs like NIT Agartala, NIT Meghalaya, and NIT goa. But you need to be a home state candidate and you must belong to SC/ST category. But, your chances of getting a seat is very less.
As per your rank you do have chances for getting one of the NITs.
But definitely you won't be able to get the top/best NITs as your rank doesn't match the requirements.
Also, it would be difficult ylfor you to get chemical branch in these NITs.
However, you can try for other decent NITs where you do have some chances for getting chemical engineering branch.
