B.Sc. (or B.Sc General) Bachelor’s degree and B.Sc. Bachelor’s degree (Hons), are both academic degrees given to undergraduate students. B.Sc (Hons) is much more specialized as compared to the B.Sc (General) degree, and academically, B.Sc (Hons) is a more standard degree as compared to B.Sc (general). And DU only offers Hons courses in B.Sc unlike in B.A.

Some good colleges for B.Sc General are:
- St. Xavier's Mumbai: A minimum of 45% marks in H.S.C from Maharashtra Board or any other recognized board. Selection is based on Merit in the qualifying examination.
- Mount Carmel Banglore: 10+2 in Science stream with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Students must have studied that subject or the relevant subject at 10+2 level. Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview round after declaration of 10+2 result
- Jain University Banglore: Pass in 10+2 from a recognized board. Selection is On the basis of marks in the last qualifying examination and score in JET.
- VELS University Chennai: Selection is Merit-Based and The admission the courses are on Merit basis on VELS Merit Based Examination score & Merit based on the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination.
- Mithibai College of Arts Mumbai: Passed XII std. Examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with Science stream and secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate at first attempt. Admission to the UG courses in Mithibai College is done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exams.
- Chitakar University Patiala: Chitkara University offers the B.Sc course in 8 different specializations. Candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination are eligible to apply for the B.Sc. Admission to the B.Sc. will be done on the basis of merit in the 10+2 examination and based on performance in the personal interview conducted by the University.
