Well, if you want to shift from science to management, it must be a well thought decision. You can do well in the field related to science and technology since India is an IT hub.

The Mittal School of Business at LPU is accredited by Accreditation Council for Business Schools and for ensuring quality education and industry-experienced faculty members, studying in LPU will get a degree accredited from a body of USA.

Placement: Companies like Colgate Palmolive, Hindustan Unilever, Godrej Consumer, Asian Paints, Bajaj Allianz, CEAT, Rallis India, etc. visit LPU for recruitment purposes. The main thing for placement that I liked there is that LPU provides placement classes to the students from the first year, which helps students prepare for placement until their final year of the . The highest package offered for the management is Rs. 21 LPA.

Scholarships: LPU provides very good scholarships on the basis of Percentage in Qualifying Exam/ Qualification previous to Eligibility Qualification, LPUNEST, CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT or NMAT, Financial Aid, Need-Based, Financial Aid for Serving/ Retired Defence/ CRPF/ Para- Military Personnel and their dependents, Financial Aid to Persons with Certain Disabilities

Faculty: All faculty members are well qualified from top-ranked universities all over the world such as IITs, NITs, IIMs, etc.

Ranking:

1. Ranked 1st for Focus on Affordable and clean energy in India

2. Ranked 2nd for Decent Work and Economic Growth in India

3. Ranked 37th business management schools in India

5. It is among the top 20 Indian organisations that have filed the highest number of patents in India in the last 10 years including IIT Madras.

Dear Ayansh, you secured 65% in Graduation which qualifies you to appear for CAT. If you plan on appearing for CAT, you should certainly prepare. But if your question is should you be preparing given the scores in your 10th, 12th and Graduation, then that depends on your target Colleges and Category. For securing a call from IIM, there is a certain rating scale that is followed. For example, IIM Ahmedabad, the following rating scale is followed:

10th Rating:

Percent score                         Rating Score

<= 55                                                1

> 55 and <= 60                               2

> 60 and <= 70                              3

> 70 and <= 80                             5

> 80 and <= 90                             8

> 90                                               10

The same rating score is used for 12th Science /Commerce Streams. From each Academic sectors top 5% from each stream and each Category will be short listed. After shortlisting the Candidates, the selected Candidates will have to go through WAT and PI rounds. Selection at this stage will strictly be based on the shortlisting of the candidates done separately for each Category ) on the basis of their Final Composite Score. The numbers selected in different reservation categories will be in proportions mandated by law.

Personal Interview Multiplication Factor (PIF) = 0.50

AWT Multiplication Factor (AWTF) = 0.10

CAT Score Multiplication Factor for Final Composite Score (CATF_FCS) = 0.25

Application Rating Multiplication Factor for Final Composite Score (ARF_FCS) = 0.15

After the AWT & PI round, admission offers are made by IIMA to successful candidates. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in AWT & PI, academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, work experience, etc.

So if your target is IIMs, you should score nothing less than 95% if you belong to General Category, 85% for OBC, 75% for SC and 65% for ST.
