I got 92% in X n 94% in XII with 80% in ag bsc.what is the maximum percentile that I should get in CAT 2018 for admission into MANAGE?
Hey Rajeevi!
You have good score in class tenth as well as twelfth. Secondly, you have great marks in undergraduation. So, you have good chance to get in the top B-schools like IIMABC, IIFT, FMS, TISS-NET. As, except IIFT or TISS-NET, most of them consider your past academic records. You need to have above 96-97 percentile to get into IIMABC, considering the gender diversity factor. In IIFT, after the selection process you get 2% extra preference in the GD & PI round, in case you are a girl. So, prepare well and ace it. Best wishes!
Hey Rajeevi,
According to me, 85+ percentile will definitely land you into MANAGE, Hyderabad and you have an added advantage of beong it in Agricultural sector among rest others.
A good academic performance of your is also an added advantage. Manage, only takes CAT so try it hard to get that big fish. All the best
Hope it clears your doubts. All the best for your future endeavours.
Feel free to contact incase of any queries.
Thanks.
Dear Rajeevi
You have a very good academic score and also the fact that you are a non engineer is just the cherry on cake. You should be able to get calls from IIMs and other B-schools comapartively easier than you engineer peers. Please make sure that you aim for as high as possible. Given your record IIM indore call can be expected above 92 percentile and other old IIM calls will start after 98 percnetile.
Here is an article depicting lowest cutoff percentiles for various IIMs https://bschool.careers360.com/articles/cat-cutoff
All the best
Hello Rajeevi,
You have a very good past academic record. To be honest, there is not much weightage to past academic record as compared to the CAT examination score. On a safer side, it is always better to score 95+ percentile to get into a good B-school.
At this point when only 15 days are left for CAT 2018, I suggest you to focus on preparation and give your best. Do not worry about the output.
Good Luck. :)
Hi Rajeevi,
You got a very good score in Xth , Xth and graduation. So, you fulfill the minimum criteria of 50% to be eligible for CAT.
If you want to be in a ood B-school, then score ranging between 95 t0 100 percentile will get you in a good B-School. But, B-schools also consider extra curricular activities , work experience also as a factor for admission. So, it would be an edge over others if you have a good set of extra curricular activities and hobbies ( that you can defend during interviews) aprt from good academic records.
All the best
Hi Rajeevi,
I have a similar academic profile(9/9/8) and I am currently studying in IIMK. So, I can guide you from my experience. The cutoff varies across B-Schools. A minimum of 97 %ile is a must for you to enter good IIMs / top B-Schools. For other colleges, it varies accordingly. I had 98 %ile. I suggest you prepare well for CAT as you have good academics.
You have some great past academics. Keeping in mind profile diversity you should bring somewhere around 97+ percentile in Cat to get calls from all the IIMs and other top Bschools as well.
Do not limit yourself by a max percentile give your best, and secure as much as you can, the competition is really really tough for the top 10 colleges and you can actually make it through if you really wish for it.
The higher percentile you get the better is the security because the chances to mess up in an interview or Gd process or Wat process is relatively higher than that of CAT. So if you have higher percentile this mess can be covered up by your Overall Score.
So work hard and get the max you can.
Hope to See you in the IIM family soon.
All the best.

Hi Rajeev
Generally a 9 , 9 , 9 is the best combination. However 9 9 8 is good enough. According to these academics a minimum percentile of 97 would fetch you a call from top IIMs. Your admission will then depend on your GD, WAT and PI scores.
Hello Rajeevi
You must have 70 percentile on an average basis in order to freeze your seat in MANAGE. Though sometimes this college accept scores below this also and the reason is the number of students applied for this college and respective courses it offers.
So try to maintain percentile around 70 or above. Since you have maintained good academic profile so you may get admission below this score tentatively.
Good luck for your career ahead.
Thanks
Hey Rajeevi!
Your past academic record is good enough to give a sure shot entry to IIMABC. But, you will also need 97 percentile plus to get in the top 3 B-schools, considering the gender diversity factor. Then, if you belong from obc-category. It will be 93 percentile plus. This will come down to 90 percentile for SC/ST category. Secondly, keep in mind that the actual percentile of entry is different from the portrayed one in the cut-off. So, prepare well and ace for the best B-school.
Your marks in your past academics are good enough to land you in a good IIM.
Speaking with respect to CAT,scoring more than 98 percentile becomes essential if you are seeking admission in an older IIM,FMS Delhi,XLRI etc.
Also, for newer IIM's,SPJIMR,SP JAIN etc. scoring more than 95 percentile is important.
Besides this, having good GD/PI skills is a must.
Also,if you are very good in your extra co-curriculars and have a work experience,it just adds feathers to your cap.
Hope this helps.
