Hello aspirant,
To get into any of the NITs the first requirement is to be JEE Main qualified. The qualification would on the basis of one's category. So if one has qualified as per his/her category then he/she is eligible to get a seat in NITs,IIITs or GFTIs. Below I have provided 2019 JEE Main cutoff (percentile) category wise -
- CRL : 89.75
- GEN-EWS : 78.21
- OBC-NCL : 74.31
- SC : 54.01
- ST : 44.33
- PwD : 0.11
Now all it depends on the marks you scored and the ranking you achieved to get into a prestigious NIT. Many of the candidates marks may vary very much but their percentile can be near about same. So if you have scored better in JEE Main and secured a good and valid rank then you can get a seat in a top notch NIT. To get into NITs, you have to go through JoSAA counselling process. If you don't get a seat through JoSAA but you are JEE Main qualified, then you can apply for CSAB counselling which will begin after the end of JoSAA conselling and is conducted for admission of JEE Main qualified candidates into NITs, IIITs ,GFTIs.
