Hope you are doing well. I want to say you that 76 percentile means rank will be around 2 lakh in 10 lakh aspirants and their are all around 40000 government quota seats. So it is difficult to get a government college through this rank.
see jee main 2021 overall cut off is expected to be around 85 percentile for general category and for OBC/EWS, it is expected to be around 75. so their ase very few chances to qualify even!

As i'm also a B.TECH Student, want to personally suggest you to check for some semi-government college of your home state, May you will got chance and after that score good in 1st year (i.e. above 8.5 CGPA) and apply for college transfer or branch change(if you wouldn't get your desired one). Branch change is quite easy because it is college inside process and for college transfer you have to give them a valid reason (like family income issue, difficult in traveling from home etc etc).
