I got 95% in Science stream without economics , Can I get good college in Eco Hons in DU . I'm OBC-NCL.

let's see how is the applicants marks calculated for Eco Hons.

1. You need to give your best 4 marks , which should include atleast one language.
2. Mathematics and Economics are perquisites in class 12th for opting Eco Hons. in DU.
3. However you didn't have Economics then your best 4 percentage will be reduce by 2.5%.
4. It is not necessary for you to consider Mathematics in your best 4 , although having studied it is compulsory. But including Economics in best 4 is compulsory otherwise you attract the same penalty as mentioned in point 3.

Now coming to your question specifically, since last few years no college in DU has witnessed a cut off lower than 90% for Eco Hons. except a few girls colleges, and the cut off will come near 90 only in the 4th or 5th cut off. Colleges in North Campus require at least 94.5% - 95%.

Next, Marks in Economics alone don't matter at all and the aggregate of best 4 alone matters.You may perform very well in economics but if you don't do well in other subjects then you will be in trouble and it may also happen that you may not perform very well but get a score around 90 in economics and perform very well in other subjects and clear the cut off on aggregate.
