This is the first year where NTA is conducted jee main for 2 times and also giving the percentile as it was conducted online the marks were normalised baswd on the paper difficulty and all other factors like top scored in that session the average performance in each subject and then they create a algorithm for the calculation of the percentile and they provided the percentile based on the best performance of the two exams both january and april. So it was also little oate to give out result.
The percentile is the reason that is making all of us confused in getting conclusion on the seat getting
So every one is getting a good percentile of above 90 and 95 but they are not getting that there rank will be nearly to 60 thousand.
So you got nearly 95 percentile that means out of all you are ahead of 95 percent people but the sad point is that rank is 60 k as the total number of applicants are 12 lakhs
So if you belong to general category then it will not fetch you a good seat in the top nits and if you get also it will be of non core branches like chemical textile petroleum and some physics maths courses
If you are intrested you can get directly with out wasting a moment.
If at all you have some reservation like st or sc then it will fetch you a good nit in your home state and also you get some iiit and new nits you get core branches.
No need to worry if this is the case.
It is always good to join nits rather some pvt universities.
You can join some top universities like bits hyd , pilani and some other.
Be good in getting the seat grab tge best offer you get see that you never choose the seat you deserve.
Nit is not a matter as in some state the last rank of closing was 6lakh but it is rare case and it is for some reservations and in some new nits.
Hope my answer helps you .

Hello Vaishali,
With 95.38 percentile in JEE mains you will rank up around 51782 and this is not a good rank for getting NITs. Depending on this year's cutoff you might even see if you are eligible in your home state NITs with bad branches. However there are more colleges that you can get on the basis of your percentile:
- Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology
- National Institute of Foundry & Forge Technology, Hatia, Ranchi
- Mizoram University, Aizawl
- School of Engineering, Tezpur University, Napaam, Tezpur
- Indian Institute of Carpet Technology, Bhadohi
- YMCA University of science and Technology, Faridabad
- Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar
- University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kurukshetra
