Hi, you have scored quite well and with this percentage you would get admission in almost any any college that offers science courses within the first merit list itself. Admission to DU colleges is based on best of four aggregate and not overall percentage. I'll list down some colleges based on previous year's cut off in which you can easily seel admission if your best of four is around 96%-97%:

  • Acharya Narendra Dev College
  • Aryabhatta College
  • Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College
  • Bharti College
  • Bhagini Nivedita College (W)
  • Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences
  • College of Vocational Studies
  • Daulat Ram College
  • Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College
  • Deshbandhu College
  • Dyal Singh College
  • Gargi College (W)
  • Hans Raj College
  • Hindu College
  • Indraprastha College for Women (W)
  • Institute of Home Economics (W)
  • Janki Devi Memorial College
  • Kalindi college
  • Kamla Nehru college
  • Keshav Mahavidyalaya
  • Kirori Mal College
  • Lakshmi Bai College
  • Lady Irwin College (W)
  • Lady Shri Ram college (W)
  • Maharaja Agrasen College
  • Maitreyi college
  • Motilal Nehru College
  • Mata Sundri College for Women (W) * Sikh Minority(SM)
  • Miranda House
  • P.G.D.A.V. College
  • Rajdhani College
  • Ram Lal Anand College

Hey Anshika,

Congratulations for your great score!

Since your score is good enough so can easily expect your admission in top colleges of du.

These are some of the good science colleges under du:

St. Stephens college

Miranda House

Hindu College

Sri Venkateswara College.

Hansraj College.

Ramjas College.

Gargi College.

Acharya Narendra Dev College.

Deen Dayal Upadhyay College

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College

The cutoffs for these colleges goes as high 97-98 % but you can expect your admission in 2nd to 3rd cutoffs. If you belong to any reserved category you can easily get admission in the first cutoffs.

If you're hoping to apply in some commerce or arts courses you may try for srcc, lsr, hindu, hansraj, khalsa, etc. You can expect your admission in them.  Again if you belong to reserve category it will not take long for you to find a seat in any prominent college of DU in any of the field. Also if you apply for any different stream other than your science stream there will be deduction of some percentage which vary from college to college.

Hope this works for you.

Good luck!

Hello Akshita,

Since you have a very good percentage and the chances are you can get good college too. But before proceeding further I want to tell you the admission procedure of University of Delhi is really fast and good as compared to any other and fees structure is also very feasible. So taking admission in DU is a very Good Decision.

Further if I tell you the list of good colleges in which you can enroll are like SRCC, HINDU, KIRORIMAL, etc. Since you have done your higher secondary by PCB so you can enroll in BSC ie bachelor in Science taking your any one subject as core.

The admission is purely merit based so the chances are if you belong to any minority quoto, it will be very easy for you to get enrolled.

Since the cutoff percentage every year varies so right now I suggest you to apply for University of Delhi simultaneously you can apply for other state university also.

I hope I was able to clear your doubt.

Hope you do well in future.

Hii Akshita,

96% is a fabulous score and congratulations on that. Admission in du is based on the percentage of your top 4 subjects ( top 3 subjects also in some course). More over it's your area of interest too which matters in which college you want to take admission in. You can go for Bsc Hons Food Tech which is offered by lady Irwin college, bhaskracharya college of applied Sciences etc.

Other subjects can be bsc hons microbiology, bsc hons biological science, botony etc. These courses are offered in various colleges which include gargi college, ram lal anand college, institute of home economics, lady Irwin college etc.

I hope this answer will help.

All the best for the future!!
