ear Mate,
As we all know Think SASTRA Think MERIT, to get a mechanical engineering course would be the toughest ask.
Now there are 2 streams of counseling.
In stream 1, 70% of seats are allocated.
In stream 2, 30% of seats are allocated.
Stream 1:
In this stream, both JEE Main marks and 12th Board marks will be considered, where 25%weightage is for JEE Main score and 75% weightage is for Board marks. For example, if your JEE Main score is 185 and you score 95% in board marks. Then your aggregate score is = 0.25*185 + 0.75*95 = 117.5.
SASTRA will publish a separate rank list for stream 1 based on the aggregate score of all applicants.
Since 70% seats are allocated in this stream,
If you come under ALL INDIA Category and if you are called for forenoon session of Day 1 counseling, then you will get Mechanical mostly.
If you come under Tamil Nadu Category and if you are called for Day 1 counseling or Day 2 first slot, you will get Mechanical mostly.
If you come under Trichy/Tanjore Category and if you are called for Day 1 or Day 2 counseling, you will get Mechanical Mostly.
Stream 2:
This is purely based on your 12th standard marks. And your normalized 12th board marks score will be taken to eliminate partiality between State, Central and International boards. Now if you 12th marks in Cbse board is 90% and if the topper of your Cbse board has a score of 97%, then your normalized score is = (90/97)*100 = 92.78 %.
Again a separate rank list will be published for Stream 2 too.
Since there are only 30% seats allocated through this stream 2. The counseling will happen only for a day.
Thank you :)
