I got a Overall percentile of 92.24 in CAT 2017, what should I do next? Should I for a good B school or try other exams (now and next year)?
Congratulations on your great performance!!
With your CAT percentile, you could have expected to get calls from ultra new IIMs but as your quant percentile is very low so you might face problem in clearing the sectional cut off of any IIM.
If you are able to score very well in XAT and CMAT exam then you will have a good chance of getting calls from some of the good b-schools but you will miss the IIMs. Seein your performance in other 2 sections I feel you should wait for one more year work hard on quant and again give CAT exam because if you would have scored in the same way in quant section then you could have definitely got 99+ percentile and that would have got you a ticket for old IIMs like IIM A, B, C, L, K and I.
Still, it's just my suggestion if you get a very good score in XAT and you are satisfied with the b-school you would get then you can go for it. In the end, it is your call.
All the best!!
First of all congratulations for a great performance!!
Your academics seem to be decent and percentile is good too, however just because of one section, you may not get calls from IIMs or IITs. Also IMT, GHAZIABAD, MDI, Gurgaon and other good B-schools have sectional cutoffs and even if they don't, they would not consider anything below 70 percentile.
Try to give your best in XAT and CMAT, you will get a number of good college options opened up like K. J Somaiya, NIBM, NIA, IRMA etc.
All the best!!
