I got a rank of 15627 in SRMJEE 2019. If I don't get CSE in main campus, should I opt for IT in main campus or CSE in other campus?
Hello Tarun.
Thank you for opting Careers360.
First of all, the college or the branch does not matter if you are really passionate about a particular stream. CSE and IT are two streams which lead to similar jobs but they don't have same things in common in syllabus. In CSE, you get to learn programming and software designing while in IT you get to learn installing and maintaing softwares in different systems. So, firstly, decide which stream you're really interested in and then opt for the college or campus.
All the best.
Since you didn't got cse in main branch you can go with IT because placement of IT is also good and future scope is there but if you are not satisfied with this branch you can take CSE in other campus of SRM because you should not lose hope and opportunity is everywhere you can grab .
Given your rank you'll not be able to get BTech CSE in the main campus. So while deciding on choosing between IT or CSE you should take in consideration your interest. Both BTech CSE and IT are different. CSE focuses on programming and its integration with hardware, whereas IT is an application of CS on focuses on the tools of CSE that should be used to solve the problem. I would suggest you read more about both these fields and then choose one based on your interest.
All the best!
hello aspirant,
see the syllabus for cse and it are quite same. and srm main campus has excellent faculty and campus placement. if placement is your main concern you should go for srm main campus. and if you want computer science and really very passionate about it then may check the other campus of srm.
so decision is yours. best of luck.
