I am sorry to say but with the rank that you have scored and considering the fact that you are an EWS category candidate, it would be almost impossible for you to get any NIT, unless your home state NIT is one of the less preferred ones like Meghalaya, Sikkim, Nagaland, etc.
JEE Mains is an annual exam that is conducted by the National Testing Agency and the CBSE for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses in NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and other institutes. It also serves as the first stage for admission to IITs through JEE Advanced.
EWS is a new category that has been created by the MHRD for economically weaker sections. 10% seats will be reserved for those candidates whose annual family income is less than INR 8 lakh per annum.
