As a private candidate appearing for the CBSE exam, you will receive a marksheet and passing certificate from CBSE, which are required for college admission. Some colleges may also ask for a migration certificate and identity proof. When filling out the college application form, under the 12th qualification section, select "CBSE Private" or "Private Candidate" instead of a school name. Ensure all details match your official documents to avoid issues during verification. It's best to check the specific requirements of the college you’re applying to.

Hello

For college admission as a CBSE private candidate , you need :

12th Marksheet & Passing Certificate

Migration Certificate (if applying outside CBSE)

Identity Proof & Photos

Caste & Domicile Certificate (if applicable)

In the college form , write CBSE Private under the school name.

Hello there,

Since you are appearing for your CBSE 12th exam as a private candidate , you will still receive a valid marksheet and passing certificate from CBSE, just like regular students.

Documents Required for College Admission:

  1. 12th Marksheet & Passing Certificate – Issued by CBSE after results.

  2. 10th Marksheet & Certificate – For DOB verification.

  3. Migration Certificate – Required if taking admission in a university outside your CBSE region.

  4. Transfer Certificate (TC) – Not needed as a private candidate, but some colleges may ask for a self-declaration.

  5. Character Certificate – Can be obtained from your previous school or a gazetted officer.

  6. Category Certificate (if applicable) – SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates may need it.

  7. ID Proof – Aadhaar, PAN, or any other valid government ID.

What to Fill in College Forms for 12th Qualification?
  • Board Name: CBSE

  • School Name: Write "Private Candidate" or "CBSE Private" (if the form allows manual entry).

  • Passing Year: The year you are appearing for the exam (e.g., 2025).

  • Roll Number: The one provided by CBSE for your private exam.

Colleges accept private candidates, so you won't face any issues. Just ensure you collect all documents from CBSE once results are declared.
