Now there are Government Medical Colleges, Private Medical Colleges and Deemed/Central Universities. You haven't mentioned your Category and the State you belong to. But in a nut shell, to be able to study in any GMC of South India, you need to participate in All India Counselling. 15% of the seats of all GMCs are transferred to a central pool and this is called All India Quota. Now if you belong to General Category, you will need atleast 600 and above for a seat in a GMC under All India Counselling. If you belong to Reserved Categories, you might need 550 atleast.
