Congratulations for your results. With category rank of 7146 you have chances to get in any of the NITs. In NITs you can apply via Home State (HS) quota for which you have priority. You have to register for JoSAA for considering you for counselling. JoSAA prepares a rank list and release opning and closing rank. So your counselling is based on JoSAA rank list.

Yes you may get seat in top nit colleges . As you are from obc you got 7146 rank then definitely you can get good nit colleges . In nit colleges there is a scope to get good job opportunities . There is a experienced faculty and staff . Placements are good . Infrastructure is awesome . So definitely you will get nit colleges . good luck .
