Hey Afarsh,
Getting into India's prestigious college is a dream of everyone but the most important thing after this is that you score good marks and can carry forward these marks to your last sem. So if you're willing to enter IIT or IIIT with low rank its good but you need to research which subject you are opting. You need to find out how is the market of that stream. Whether there is any Good Placement or not. What is its future scope? And the Important point whether you will get interested after that or not.
To short it down the following Key Points you need to know:
- Placement
- Future Scope in India and Abroad
- How many colleges offer this course
- Your Interest To that Subject/Branch
Hope that Helps.
Thank You
Hello,
Low rank is a little vague area to venture a guess. If your rank is decent enough to get into nit ot iiit it is not a low rank. However, if you are interested in any branch you are getting with your rank from nits or iiits choose iiit with better ranking than nits with worse rankings.
As you have hot low rank in JEE Mains, please use the Jee main college predictor to know about which branch college and branch you can get

You might get lower branches, but still fill some good branches in the first few levels of counseling. If you don't get them then go for lower branches.
Hope it helps
thank you!
If your rank is below 30000 then you may may get lower nit and IIITs .
Please share your rank for further details .
Thanks
