Hello Aspirant,
Congrats for such a magnificent performance in Jee Mains !
With this percentile most probably you will qualify for Jee Advance. Now if you want to further increase your marks then first thing you have to do is to analyse the topics where you find some difficulty. With this I mean go through the paper again and see your weak topics and work on those topics. So that you can get confidence on those topics also in which you did not score good this time. Also try to attempt maximum question papers, it will help you in making good strategy about efficiently solving papers. My suggestion would be that instead of preparing for Mains again you should start preparing for Advance as your score is good enough to clear the cutoff. For your question as I told strengthen your weak topics and also make your strong topics more stonger..
Good Luck !!!
Hi student,
Your score is good but if you prepare well for the next time you can get much more than that. So if you want to make it higher next time then just follow these simple steps:
Since it is one of the toughest entrance examinations and needs thorough preparation. Majority of the portion of JEE Mains and Advanced is based on class 11 and class 12 syllabus. So it is important to pay attention to class 11 and class 12 syllabus. Now since you have already appeared once for the examination, then clearly your syllabus is complete. All you need is a thorough revision. So it is important that you stick to the syllabus due to lack of Availability of time and read the NCERT's of Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics thoroughly for revision. Let us take one subject at a time.
CHEMISTRY:NCERT for chemistry is very important as there are several times when JEE has asked direct questions from it. For organic, read all the reactions thoroughly, memorise the reagents and catalysts and clear your concepts regarding their use. The formulae in must be on your fingertips. The physical and inorganic portion must also be thoroughly read. After covering all the topics from NCERT and the reference books, you must attempt questions from past
10-12
years of jee mains. Several books are available in market like Arihant, McGraw Hill, etc that provide solved previous year papers. Also pay attention to what mistakes you made in the first attempt and rectify them. Revise specially those topics in which you made mistakes in the first attempt.
MATHEMATICS: Practice is the key to maths. Once you have covered the syllabus from NCERT, practice questions from books like R D Sharma or TMH Mathematics. Also refer SL loney and Hall& Knight. Honestly attempt the previous
10-12
year papers to enhance your understanding of concepts. Again, the formulae must be on your fingertips. Also keep in mind to read those topics thoroughly in which you made mistakes in the first attempt.
PHYSICS: Physics is a very conceptual subject. Don't try to mug up things without understanding, as this will be time consuming and not fruitful. Its better to read less but whatever you read is conceptually clear to you. Some of the important books apart from NCERT are H C Verma and Arihant DC Pandey. H C Verma is a must solve book for jee mains. Lastly solve the past years papers for the final touches to your preparation. Don't forget to assess the previous mistakes of first attempt. This will help in greatly improving your score.
One of the most important thing in preparation is joining a full test series of any good coaching institute. It will also increase your problem solving speed which is on of the major rank deciding factors.
