Well certainly mechanical engineering is a good branch if you have a good visual imagination and some interest in machines. As far as NIT Silchar is concerned it is one of the most scenic campuses of India with all the facilities in the campus along with the largest digital library in the nation. Due to it's location some companies find it difficult to come for placement but that is not too big a concern.
